....."the second was even better, if that was possible"...

Hi All,

Well two concerts down and three to go, and as good as the first one was then the second was even better, if that was possible. The venue was almost sold out with only about 20-25 seats in the upper level not sold. This time the concert hall (University) was more of a purpose built music venue as opposed to a hotel venue in Galway.

SONG LIST EXPANDED

The playlist was almost identical, the only change from the Galway concert was "I'm Forever Wandering" added to the first half in between "What's In A Kiss" and "Hold On To What You Got" at no.14 and also in the second another added song "Say Goodbye" from Irlish after "Me" also from Irlish, otherwise the show was much the same apart from being more enjoyable. This time the drum machine and the special effect machine worked first time of asking so there were no hiccups to throw him off.

FANS NEAR AND FAR

Lisa from the group, who came all the way over here from California, just to have the opportunity to see Gilbert live, had a really wonderful time, and after the show we all got the opportunity to actually meet Gilbert in person. He is a very nice person indeed and greeted all of us with a pleasant hello and thank you, and was amazed to hear that people can travel all the way like Lisa just to hear him play a few concerts.

BRITISH & AMERICAN TOURS, NEW RELEASE

I did ask Gilbert if he has any plans to tour in the U.S.A. and he said that it is a possibility in the future as he had talked to promoters in U.S. and it looked like a good opportunity for him but it is still at the discussion table so fingers crossed it might happen some day. As for the British tour, then he said that that is definite and just waiting for dates, which look like the autumn and should be at least 6 venues. He did also say to me that he is hoping to release new material next year, maybe a "rare tracks" type album.

THE GOS MAILING LIST

I thanked him from all the group, of whom he is aware of, and he doesn't seem to mind at all the fact that one exists, in fact he seemed rather pleased to be a topic of conversation around the world, but doesn't think he will ever be computer friendly, also he is aware of the new 'official' site which is booked and ready to go, he doesn't know how it will be run as of yet.

DUBLIN, HERE WE COME!

Today, Wednesday there is no concert, so Thursday we will have a lot more from the Group attending the Dublin Concert, Linda, Jane, Lisa, Brian, Joke, and myself and maybe a few others of which I'm not sure of yet.

Regards,

Hugh Miller, Limerick - 27, March 2001

Thanks Hugh!
