I’m A Writer and Now A Fighter!

Hi All!

The time has come to say enough! We shouldn’t sit idly by and shrug our shoulders anymore. What in the world am I talking about? Well, see for yourselves…just pick up the May edition of Q Magazine and the April edition of Mojo Magazine. Both magazines reviewed the Berry Vest of Gilbert O’Sullivan.

Well, all that I can say is that neither review is going to put a smile on your face. Insult to injury, Q Magazine has the "cojones" to make fun of Gilbert’s letter G sweater too. The Mojo review is far worse! James McNair in his 117-word review did not have One nice word to say! He gives the collection three stars but proceeds to tear it to shreds! It’s obvious that he didn’t even bother to read the booklet. He misspelled Clair and made her Gilbert’s niece. Hello....it was a UK Number one!!!!! Naturally he alludes to the sexual side of the song which we all know doesn’t exist. It amazes me that a song written about a cute little girl can’t remain just that. Oh if the song was released today it would… yadda, yadda, yadda…Bite me! Finally, Gilbert will always be ridiculed for writing “Ooh-Wakka-Doo.” It’s a silly little ditty that certainly would never win an Ivor Novello Award. The song makes you smile, what more could you ask? Furthermore, I am a huge Beatle fan since 1964 and "Yellow Submarine" is no better and no worse.

Therefore, I am supplying everyone with the email address to both magazines. Please take a few minutes out of your busy day and send them a note. The Berry Vest reached number four in Ireland and Number twenty in the UK. Someone must have brought the CD after all of us did!!!

You will find both reviews in the Pressbox Section on the website. Save yourselves some money and read the reviews here.
