News From Japan:
New CD, CD Single, TV Theme, Toyko Concerts!

Gilbert is heading to Japan this June. He will be in concert in Tokyo at the recently opened Duo Music Exchange. He will do four shows June 5th through the 8th.

I'm sure he will be on Japanese TV alot and speaking of Japanese TV! Japanese television dramas (or "dorama" as they are often referred to outside Japan) are probably the biggest form of entertainment in Japan. Very popular japanese actors and actresses appear in these types of shows. Gilbert's Alone Again (Naturally) is the theme to a very popular, 2004 Spring season, Japanese TV Drama called FoamHome Drama. It is broadcast by TBS Network on Friday nights from 10:00-10:54 PM. The plot revolves around tragedy that brings a new family together.

Victor Entertainment will release another compilation cd on June 16th called Best Hits & Rarities. It appears that this cd is a tie-in with Gilbert's commerical works in Japan. Taking a Chance On love, Anytime and Tomorrow Today were used in other TV programs and commericals. I must thank my good friend Isao Hirami for getting You Never Listen To Reason released on cd. This song makes its digital world debut with this release! I'm a little puzzled by the description of What's It All Supposed To to Mean as being the UK album version?? I thought that all the songs on Piano Foreplay were not mixed a second time. The video to this song is included on the CD. As for Alone Again (Naturally) in 1993, the Kitty Record Company gave "the present version" to those fans who bought the re-released 5 MAM CDs. So it's not an unreleased version but an "official" first time release! Other songs such as If I Start With The Chorus (Frobisher Drive Version) and Are You Happy? (UK album version) make their Japanese debut! Victor will also release Alone Again a cd single (VICP-35097) on the same day. The cd will include "Alone Again (Naturally)", "Make My Day" which was used by Mitsubishi Motors and "Taking A Chance On Love" which was used by Sapporo Breweries, Ltd. Both items are available from www.cdjapan.co.jp.

A special "thank you" to Isao Hirami and Yasutomo Arai in Japan!
