Glasto 2008! Gilbert performed twice at this year's Glastonbury Festival in Somerset. The first performance was at the Acoustic Stage, Saturday, June 28th . In 1982, this stage was set up as a reaction to the synthesised music predominating the charts in the early 1980s - its mission was to showcase "real people playing real instruments". The second performance was on the Pyramid Stage, Sunday, June 29th. This iconic stage has been part of the Festival since 1971. Some of the world's most famous artists have played on this stage. It is also the center of the Festival every year. Gilbert's Band consisted of the following: keyboards, percussion, guitars, woodwind and reeds plus a Sting Quartet and backup singers.The crowd cheered as Gilbert climbed upon his piano to close his set with "Get Down".
