The European Tour: A Renaissance At The Moment!

In May of this year, Gilbert took Europe by storm. His concerts were packed with fans from Switzerland to Holland. London's Daily Mail stated that "O'Sullivan is enjoying something of a renaissance at the moment." He played an average of 31 songs many which were singles such as Why, Oh Why,O Why, Happiness Is Me And You and What's In A Kiss. However, he spent the most time with songs from his latest CD A Scruff At Heart.

Recently, voicing his frustation concerning the media he said: "What I can't understand is why people still won't give me the credibility that I look for. If Mojo or any other of those magazines would give me the credit for only ever performing my own songs rather than someone like Rod Stewart singing other people's songs looking for success. "I still sit in my room writing songs and I hope against hope that people will give me the credit for that. When the magazines talk about artists they talk about the Paul McCartneys, the Paul Simons, they never talk about me. So their readers and contemporary artists are never going to check me out because they're not reading about me. That's what I have to overcome but it won't stop me writing [songs]."

Gilbert's next major stop and one with high visibility is his two performances at the Glastonbury Festival on June 28th and June 29th. He will be in excellent company as he shares the stage with Kings of Leon, The Feeling, KT Tunstall, Jay Z, Amy Winehouse, The Raconteurs, James Blunt, Crowded House, The Verve, Neil Diamond and John Mayer to name a few!
