Hi Joe,
I went to the show alright and really enjoyed it especially the new material. I didn't write because there wasn't very much to add to Reinhard Montmann's recent report. The only difference from the Dutch playlist was the omission for some reason of "I Wish I Could Cry". The crowd of course sang "Happy Birthday" which really embarrassed Gilbert. He also said that not only was he back by popular demand but by "artist demand" which went down well. Gilbert really seemed to enjoy smashing the keyboard at the end of the show to the delight of the crowd. My brother-in-law who was with me (and who is not a dedicated fan but has a fondness for Gilbert) felt it was one of the best gigs he was ever at, and he has been to see some major artists(e.g. Billy Joel, David Bowie). So that says it all.
All the best,
Brian
Thanks Brian for your update!
