New CD Single
"The definitive version" - Gilbert is calling it!
![]()
I Wish I Could Cry is Gilbert's latest single! This song has a special place in his heart as it was written in response to Robert Kennedy's assination in 1968! Two years ago he was finally able to buy the publishing rights from EMI Records (who originally released it in 1971). He also stated that in 1971 he was very unexperienced and he had to record it the way "they" wanted it done. Now, finally he had the opportunity to re-record it to his liking. The song was produced in conjunction with Ron Argent and Peter Van Hook. It's a completely different recording from the "Every Song Has It's Play" version.
Once again, I only know that the CD has been released in Holland. The other track is "In Bed By Ten". I am not positive if this is a remix or taken directly from the "Singer Sowing Machine". Maybe someone can verify this!

Christmas arrived early for me this year as I finally got Gilbert's autograph! Naturally, I must thank Rob and Joke for their efforts. Now all I need are the autographs from those four "Liverpool" guys and my life would be complete!
