Gilbert in Ireland!

The Late Late Show - February 27th, 2010!

It's good to be back in Ireland!..I'm proud of my roots, the local boy who makes good!

Gilbert appeared on Ireland's RTE The Late Late Show with host Ryan Tubridy. He chatted with Ryan about performing in different Irish cities, his current Irish itinerary and his phobia to perform in "home towns" such as Waterford, Swindon and Jersey. He is comfortable playing his older catalog in concert. He also purchases much of today's music including John Mayer, Pixie Lott and Lady GaGa. He says that as a songwriter it's important to listent to what's going on and maybe learn something. It may not be the songs but the sound of today's records is fantastic. He briefly touched upon the RTE documentary which will be aired in March. He's not fan and doesn't watch X Factor, the UK's Largest Talent Search television show.

Gilbert performed three songs accompanied by Jimmy Smith on guitar: "All They Wanted To Say", a track from his new album and two '70's hits; "Nothing Rhymed" and "Alone Again (Naturally)." Gilbert was obviously in good spirits and gave the studio audience a verse of "Ooh-Wakka-Doo-Wakka-Day."
